With much better opening hours than the post office and banks service stations can be a great option for purchasing stamps outside of normal business hours. The only problem is that the majority of gas stations are franchised so stamps for sale are not guaranteed. I have been contacting a number of gas station chains to see if they offer stamps throughout. I am adding new stations every day so check back often. Each gas station is broken down into always sells stamps, sometimes sells stamps, and never sells stamps. A large number of gas stations only sometimes sell stamps. This is due to the fact that they are often franchises so it is up to the owners discretion if they want to sell stamps or not.

The Google Maps above have been designed to find different Gas Stations in your area. There are a few reasons why you might prefer to buy stamps from a gas station rather than a USPS store. The first of which is simply convenience. There are countless of gas stations throughout the country and we stop off at them all the time. If we happen to be going to fill up our car why not pick some up on the way.
Another big advantage of gas stations is their operating hours. Many gas stations are open 24/7 or at the very least are open a lot longer than your standard USPS store. If you happen to work long hours or are too busy with day to day life then the ability to buy some stamps and drop them off in a postbox outside of conventional business hours is a great help to some people.
Lots of large Gas Stations not only sell stamps but actually have USPS drop boxes as well. As a general rule if they are large and on a major highway then there is a good chance you can post your mail as well. If you are not sending anything overly important then it is also possible to ask the checkout worker if you can add your letter to their outgoing mail pile. This means trusting a stranger so make sure your mail doesn't include anything valuable or embarrassing if it happens to fall into the wrong hands.
