Communication has been revolutionized with so many possible ways to get in touch with anyone, anywhere just by pressing a few buttons on your mobile.
Though sophistication has changed everyday communication we still rely on the good old United States Postal Service or USPS to carry our letters, cards and parcels among many other things to our loved ones, business associates, friends and relatives.
It is no different in Connecticut too because the fun of writing is still embedded within us and we still love to receive birthday cards, invitations and write letters etc by post.
This love of post that lives within us is dependent on the USPS and their ability to deliver a package when we affix a postage stamp to the envelope carrying our letter.
If you are living or just passing through Connecticut finding a USPS outlet to post a card for a loved one or friend is not a difficult chore. One of their outlets is usually just a stone throw away from where you may be.

How Did Stamps Come To Exist:
Since Benjamin Franklin was in charge of the United States Postal department as it was called at the time there has been tremendous progress and growth in how we send our letters across the country and around the world.
While Benjamin Franklin started the post industry in the United States unfortunately he never did see a postage stamp. His death was several years before the United States postage stamps were introduced.
Though he did not see it, his importance on the postage system in America resulted in his personal portrait appearing as one of the two first stamps that were issued by his department. The other stamp saw the profile of another worthy personality, President George Washington who had the honor of being the first President of the USA.
